Welcome to THE GREAT NORTH WALK ULTRAs (GNW Ultras). This site provides 2023 GNW Ultras Runners and their Support Crews with the information they need to prepare for, and participate in, the GNW Ultras. Although this is the eighteenth year of the GNW Ultras, we are sure there will be things that could be done better. We welcome your feedback so that we can improve the Event in future years.
Terrigal Trotters formed in 1983 and has been very active in promoting running and walking for recreation and competition on the NSW Central Coast. The Club runs from Terrigal Beach Car Park at 6:00am every Saturday morning when more than 150 runners of all ages and abilities gather to run/walk 10 to 18 kilometres, followed by tea/coffee, juice and socialising.
The Club also organises the annual Bay to Bay Running Festival each June which attracts more than 2,000 competitors and raises significant sums for local charities.
The conduct of the GNW Ultras is dependent on the cooperation of a number of public authorities including the NSW Department of Industry - Crown Land , NSW Office of Environment & Heritage - National Parks and Wildlife Service, NSW Police Force, NSW Rural Fire Service, Central Coast Council and the Broken Bay Sports & Recreation Centre. Terrigal Trotters Inc. is grateful to these organisations for their cooperation.
In order to gain their approval, a number of their requirements have been incorporated in the Rules for the GNW Ultras. So that the GNW Ultras can continue in future years, all Runners and their Support Crews/Spectators are required to abide by the Rules of the GNW Ultras as specified in this document and to obey any lawful directions given by authorised members of the above organisations.
Subject to the superior powers of the above-mentioned Public Authorities, the Race Director has authority on all matters related to the GNW Ultras during the course of the Event. They, or their designee, can be contacted at any time during the GNW Ultras on 0428 880784.
The success of the GNW Ultras is dependent on the help of many Volunteers for which the Organisers are very grateful. Please treat them with respect and thank them when you have the opportunity.
